72V ONYX Alarm Fob Guide

This post explains how to use the ONYX alarm key fob to power your bike on and off, arm and disarm the alarm, and replace the battery when needed.

Simple Overview

Your ONYX key fob can:

  • Turn the bike on
  • Turn the bike off (standby)
  • Arm the alarm
  • Disarm the alarm

Each bike includes two key fobs.

Note:

  • The fob places the bike into standby. It does not fully disconnect the battery.

Important System Notes

  • The key fob does not fully cut power to the bike. The alarm and clock remain active in standby mode.
  • If the main battery is removed or fully powered off, it must be restored before the key fob will work again.

Turning Off the Alarm and Powering On

Step 1 – Disarm the Alarm

  • Press Unlock once
  • Listen for the confirmation chirp

Step 2 – Power On the Bike

  • Press the Bolt button twice
  • Dash and running lights should turn on immediately
  • Throttle power switch must be in the ON position

Powering Off to Standby

  • Press Unlock once
  • Listen for the confirmation chirp
  • Dash and running lights turn off

This places the bike into standby mode.


Arming the Alarm

  • Make sure the bike is powered off and in standby
  • Press Lock once

The alarm is now active.


Key Fob Battery Replacement

The key fob uses a CR2032 battery.

To replace it:

  • Use a small flathead screwdriver
  • Gently remove the two chrome side pieces
  • Start at the bottom seam and open the case
  • Replace the battery
  • Reassemble the housing
