ONYX 41AH BMS Settings
Navigate these settings for both ONYX 41Ah battery stock settings and tuned settings configuration for optimal performance, range, and power.
- Note that all temperature settings are in Celsius, not Fahrenheit.
Battery BMS App
Use the Overkill Solar BMS app or the Xiaoxiang BMS app to configure the ONYX 41Ah battery. Download links and instructions for the ONYX 41Ah battery BMS apps can be found below.
Battery and Cycle Capacity

Total Battery Capacity: Set this field to the full capacity of the battery in milliamp-hours (mAh). For a 41Ah battery, this value would be 41000.

Total Cycle Capacity: Set this field to 80% of the total capacity. For a 41Ah battery, this value would be 32800.

Calibrated Capacity
This screenshot shows an ONYX 41AH HD battery calibrated to around 60 volts, with an additional 5Ah of capacity remaining. This extra capacity extends the range by 4 to 10 miles, depending on throttle use. For full-throttle riding, the added 5Ah provides approximately 3 extra miles of high-speed performance at the top of the charge.
Tuned BMS Resting Voltage
When optimizing the BMS for enhanced performance and range, it’s essential to consider the significance of resting voltage levels to maintain battery health and longevity.
ONYX 41AH EK Warning
I do not recommend these tuned settings for the EK version of the ONYX 41Ah. When connecting to an ONYX 41Ah through any BMS app, the first two letters will indicate its version: either HD or EK. In 2024, it was revealed that all ONYX 41Ah EK revision batteries sold from late 2023 to early 2024 were actually 38Ah in capacity and did not include cell protectors.
Outlet Timer with Remote Control
While you can leave your charger plugged in overnight, it’s always a good idea to use an outlet timer-just in case you forget!
