TLDR - ONYX RCR Motor
If you impatiently dropped over $1,200 on a motor that’s really worth $300-like the QS 273 150mm 3T, 3.5T, especially the NBPower version-just know I’m gonna struggle to respect you in the morning. And let’s be real, I’ll probably hit you with a “No sticking around for breakfast for you.”
So here’s the deal: if you’re getting a QS 273, make sure it’s the V4 with 6 awg phase wire and 200mm dropout, and if it’s a QS 260, go for the V4 with 6 awg phase wire and 155mm dropout. Don’t play yourself.
273 150mm Motor
The 150mm 273 motor isn’t a game-changer for the ONYX RCR, but the 200mm 273 is. The 150mm, nicknamed “12k,” rose to fame in 2020 with bikes like the Stealth Bomber. Clones are out there-spot them by checking the copper wire, stator, and windings.

Motor Magnet Height
The “h” designation for magnet size refers to the magnet’s height in millimeters. For example, 55H indicates a height of 55mm. Magnet height in a three-phase motor refers to how tall the magnets are. Taller magnets create stronger magnetic fields, which means the motor can produce more power and torque. However, bigger magnets also cost more and make the motor heavier. So, magnet height is a balance between performance and practicality.

QS 205 Motor Winding List
A three phase motor has three sets of coils (windings) inside the motor, arranged around the stator. These windings are powered by three separate electrical currents, which are slightly out of sync (120° apart). As electricity flows through these windings, it creates a magnetic field that rotates around the motor.
This rotating magnetic field interacts with the rotor (the part that spins) and makes it turn. The key idea is that the three windings work together to keep the magnetic field spinning smoothly, which makes the motor run efficiently and powerfully.
