Onyx RCR Hubsinks
Hubsink has been proven in real-world testing to significantly improve hub motor performance by preventing overheating, increasing power handling and enhancing cooling. With approximately 200% better overall thermal dissipation.
The heat in a Onyx RCR QS 205 V3Ti motor is generated in the stator, not the casing. Without modifications, the heat transfer path from the stator to the motor casing is inefficient due to the air gap between them, and air is a poor conductor of heat.
Statorade and Hubsinks
Statorade bridges this gap, efficiently transferring heat from the stator to the casing. Hubsinks then take over, drawing heat from the casing and dissipating it much faster than the casing could on its own. Hubsinks with Statorade enhances heat transfer from the motor casing to the surrounding air, effectively helping the casing dissipate heat more efficiently.
Hubsinks and Tools
Order a pair of 6mm wrenches to tighten the screw and nut used for the Hubsinks.
Hubsink Install
Thoroughly clean the surface of the hub motor with rubbing alcohol and a paper towel to ensure optimal heat transfer between the hub and the Hubsinks.
Assemble all six Hubsink links, leaving the last screw uninstalled. Tighten each screw just enough to make contact with the plastic thread on the nut. Generously apply thermal grease to the underside of the Hubsinks, spreading it evenly to ensure full coverage for maximum heat transfer efficiency.
Slide the first Hubsink link through the top of the spokes and carefully work each link around the motor. Once all six Hubsink links are positioned around the motor, fully tighten each screw and nut until all black Hubsink links sit flush against each other.
