ONYX Motor Calibration Pairing
For stock Kelly controllers, you’ll need to run the motor calibration pairing process when swapping in a new motor or controller. It’s also handy for troubleshooting issues like faulty hall sensors or other technical problems.
Motor Calibration Pairing
- Kelly Controller + QS 205 Motor
- Kelly Controller + QS 260 Motor
- Kelly Controller + QS 268 Motor
- Kelly Controller + QS 273 Motor
Warning - Motor Calibration Pairing
Remove the pedal chain before starting, make sure the rear wheel is raised at least half a foot off the ground with nothing nearby-it can suddenly spin up to high speed without warning during calibration.

Motor Calibration Pairing Proccess
Change the Motor Identify EN Setting
- Keep the rear wheel elevated throughout the calibration process to ensure safety and prevent accidents.
- Open the Kelly Controller program (Windows or Android version).
- Adjust the “Motor Identify EN” field from 85 to 170.
- Tap “Write” to save the change.
- Power off the ONYX RCR completely.
- Turn the bike back on. The motor will automatically enter calibration mode and may spin for up to one minute.
- After one minute of calibration, turn the bike off and then back on.
- Verify that the “Motor Identify EN” field has reset itself back to 85 if the calibration was successful.
- The motor controller calibration process is now complete.
