Motor Wire Protector
The ONYX motor includes a phase wire protector, known as a “motor spacer,” specifically designed to prevent damage to the motor’s wiring from contact with the brake disc or hub during rotation. Similarly, the QS 260 and QS 273 motors come with spacers, both of which are currently being redesigned for improved performance.
If the phase, temperature, or hall sensor wires become damaged on the QS 205, 260, or 273 motors, the entire harness can be replaced. In some cases, the damaged wires can be individually repaired instead of replacing the full harness.
Proper installation is critical-ensure that the 24mm silver washer is placed on the motor side facing the freewheel, while the phase wire protector must be installed on the side where the phase wires exit.
