Anderson SB50 Stock Battery Lead
For ONYX RCR models (2018-2024), do not modify your controller settings, upgrade the controller, or switch to Torque Mode, Champ Mode, Plaid Mode, or Sicko Mode if you have a stock Anderson SB50 connector battery lead, whether fused or non-fused. Only use the stock controller’s Sport Mode settings.

Modified Mode Amps
Plaid Mode’s 85A DC line current from the battery is enough to melt the Anderson SB50 battery lead connector and blow the fuse under varying throttle conditions.

Battery Lead Fuse
For ONYX RCR’s (2021–2023), carrying a spare fuse by taping it underneath your wood battery cover can be a lifesaver. If your fuse ever blows, you’ll have a backup ready to keep you going. Find 100A-110A spare fuses in the ONYX Aftermarket Parts post.

Stock Sports Mode Performance
If you’re happy with the stock sports mode performance of your ONYX RCR (2018–2024) and have no plans to modify the controller settings, there’s no need to stress or upgrade your battery lead cable.
