Larger Motors
Henry, Mathew, and I realized that instead of organizing a group buy, it made more sense to secure batches of larger motors for both the 72V and 80V platforms, which are already on the way. This simplifies everything on our end, including logistics, support, and the ability to provide clear instructions and documentation. Each motor will come paired with an extended swingarm plate. As these sell through, we will continue restocking, so availability will not be limited to a single run. We do not have final pricing yet.
We are working through that along with other items, and once that process is complete, we will release all the details. And just to confirm, the 72V platform motors are compatible with the CTY2.This also gives me the time to put together a proper blog post that breaks everything down. There is a lot to cover, including what these motors are capable of, where they fit, and what they are designed to do, so I want to make sure everything is clearly laid out.
The photo shows the three motor setups we went with:
- QS 260 laced to a 17” x 2.5” rim with spokes for the 72V
- QS 260 (200 mm) on a 17” x 3.5” mag rim, designed for 200 mm dropout on the 80V
- QS 273 (200 mm) on a 17” x 3.5” mag rim, also for 200 mm dropout on the 80V
MOKE 80V Larger Front Brake Caliper
The MOKE large front brake caliper is a well designed upgrade that provides stronger, more consistent braking while remaining fully compatible with the stock hydraulic system, master cylinder, lever, and reservoir, keeping installation simple. It installs easily for anyone familiar with basic brake work, uses standard DOT 3 or DOT 4 fluid, and follows normal bleeding procedures. The key gains are larger pad surface area, higher clamp force at the same lever input, and improved thermal capacity, which helps reduce brake fade during repeated hard stops, hills, or heavier loads.
