ONYX RCR Testing
Credit: Thon, Elliot, and ONYX Community
All battery tests have been shared in the ONYX AF Facebook group, along with deep dives into performance setups that pair bikes with batteries 2 to 3 times more powerful than necessary. Why go that big? Because running at just 35–50% of a battery’s capacity keeps temps low, extends lifespan, cuts voltage sag, and unleashes stronger, cleaner power. With the right build, a 72V battery pushing 100A continuous can take you to 70 mph with raw, unfiltered speed.
ONYX LTD 45Ah: April 22, 2024
QDASH trip log saved. Took the stock LTD for a 4-mile rip and hit the West Side Highway in full Sicko Mode-20kW, 100% tune, no mercy. It was glorious. The bike? Flawless. The ONYX 45Ah? Climbed just 4°F, sagged 4V on average, peaked at 10V under my 240 lbs of aerodynamic thunder. Blog post coming soon-packed with vivid chaos, questionable decisions, and enough detail to make your throttle hand twitch.

Cheetah Mode Amorge P45B: September 5, 2024
The Amorge Molicel P45B battery test went down on Cheetah Mode, the beastly successor to Sicko Mode-cranking up from 100A to 130A DC line amps for that extra punch. But here’s the kicker: the P45B delivers a whopping 315A DC line amps, flexing way beyond what Cheetah Mode can even pull.
On a perfect 75°F sunny Thursday, September 5, 2024, I let the Amorge 40Ah Molicel P45B rip on a full-throttle 10.2-mile test ride up the West Side Highway. It devoured the road effortlessly, with just 3.4V of sag while holding steady at 60 mph. Power delivery? Instant. Performance? Relentless. By the time I wrapped up, my rear tire had heated up from 28psi to 33psi-a sign of a ride well sent.

Cheetah Mode ONYX 41Ah HD: September 1, 2024
Sunday, September 1, 2024, was a perfect 75°F and sunny-a welcome break after a hot summer and the ideal day to take Cheetah Mode out for a test run with the ONYX 41Ah battery. Cheetah Mode had been flawless the past few days, and let me tell you-it’s fun as hell. Ripping 60 mph on the 41Ah battery felt incredible, especially knowing all the care put into it over the years paid off. A 3-year-old battery, loaded with miles, still performing like it’s brand new? Now that’s an achievement.
