Order your Amorge battery for your ONYX RCR via Messenger or WhatsApp below. Request the 18" QS8 male battery cable for easy installation and choose between a 5A or 10A charger. I recommend the 5A for better longevity and performance.

Replacement Battery Cable

Do not order an Amorge battery with the stock red SB50 connector. Instead, choose either a single or dual QS8, single QS9, or single QS10 connector. To access the battery terminal, remove the panel on the driver’s right-hand side. Pay close attention to the wire colors during disassembly to ensure proper reassembly with the new battery connector.

Amorge Aftermarket ONYX Batteries

As of early 2024, the stock ONYX RCR 41Ah and 23Ah batteries are reaching the end of their lifespan. While no one knew exactly how long these batteries would last, it was a pleasant surprise to see them exceed four years. This prompted the need for a highly competitive replacement option-one capable of delivering truly custom batteries designed to meet our specific requirements for performance, safety, and durability. Fortunately, we found a large, well-resourced company with the expertise to handle substantial orders efficiently. They were able to quickly adapt, rework designs, and deliver solutions tailored to our needs.

I had the pleasure of collaborating with Amorge to design a couple of custom batteries for the ONYX RCR, with the help of fellow ONYX owners Thon and Elliot. We began by developing a stainless steel case for enhanced safety and easier handling, featuring a spring-padded handle. Next, we focused on optimizing the internal build materials and specifications, ultimately selecting the latest and highest-quality battery cells available.

We had ample opportunities to test Amorge batteries across various scenarios, including long-range rides, racing, high-demand long-distance trips, and even on the Cine-Bike, which carried over 500 lbs.

Choosing the Right Amorge Battery

  • Samsung 50S: Perfect for everyday high-power commuting, offering higher capacity and excellent discharge temperature management.
  • Molicel P45B and P50B (Latest Generation): Exceptional for high-performance racing, with outstanding discharge temperature capabilities.
  • Molicel P42A (Previous Generation): A solid choice for high-performance racing, delivering reliable discharge temperatures.
