After more than seven years of being deeply involved in the ONYX community, I’ve decided to step away from moderation, social media groups, organized events, group rides, and other community responsibilities. My enthusiasm for ONYX, the bikes, and the technology hasn’t diminished. What’s changed is how I want to spend my time. The response to my decision has already been incredible, and I genuinely appreciate everyone who’s reached out. It’s exciting to see how many people are interested in what comes next.

What started with buying an ONYX and getting curious about everything I could do with it became something much bigger than I ever anticipated. I found myself helping friends, answering technical questions, teaching owners how to maintain and repair their bikes, organizing rides, and eventually taking on community leadership. Along the way, I built lasting friendships, brought people together, and helped establish a community with standards I was proud of. Giving back was one of the most rewarding parts of the experience, and I’m glad I had the opportunity to do so much of it.

I’m especially grateful to the people at ONYX, who have been incredibly supportive of me from the beginning. Their generosity, friendship, and willingness to go above and beyond have meant a great deal to me. I’ve always appreciated the opportunity to return that support, and my relationship with the company remains as strong as ever.

Stepping away from community responsibilities doesn’t mean stepping away from the people or the things I enjoy. I still love my bikes, working on projects, exploring new technology, and spending time with friends. I’ll continue helping individual owners when I can, but I’m no longer taking on the broader responsibilities that have occupied so much of my time. There are plenty of personal projects I’ve wanted to pursue, and I’m looking forward to giving them the attention they deserve.

A big part of what’s next is expanding this blog and developing a podcast. I’ll continue researching, testing, documenting, and sharing what I learn about ONYX, engineering, modifications, technology, and safety. The podcast will build on the blog, exploring technical subjects, practical applications, and new ideas in a more conversational format. I’ve always enjoyed making useful information available to others, and I’m excited to take that work further.

Looking back, I’m proud of what we accomplished and grateful for the experiences and friendships that came with it. Seven years have given me a tremendous amount to build on, and I’m looking forward to putting that experience to work in new ways. I’m still here, still enjoying ONYX, and there’s plenty more to come.
